In celebration of the 40th Anniversary, Kentuck will kick off “40 days of Kentuck” on September 9, 2011 with a 5K Run and Block Party.
Preregistration for the 5K run is $20, registration at the event September 9th will be $25. Registration starts at 5pm and Race and Block Party start at 6pm. The first 150 runners/walkers will get a free t-shirt. THE BLOCK PARTY IS FREE!
The award categories are as follows: Master Female & Male, Top Female & Male, 1st and 2nd in each age category, and Best Costume. The costume contest theme is “artsy” and is optional. There will be a photo booth set up at the block party for those who wish to capture their costume and/or 5K experience.
The course will start just south of Dockside Apartments and will end at the intersection of 5th street and Main Avenue in downtown Northport. Course certification is pending.
After the 5K race begins, so will the Block Party in the Kentuck Courtyard. The Block Party will feature: two bands, an award ceremony, local concessions, and a photo booth. There will be a complimentary hospitality tent complete with massages, smoothies, and snacks for runners before and after the race.
Corporate Sponsor levels and benefits are also available. Depending on your level, your business will be featured on the 5K t-shirt, Block Party banner, advertising, and receive verbal recognition at the event. The deadline to sponsor the race and Block Party is August 15, 2011.
