Join Amy Smoot this September to create handmade fall décor!  This class will give the participants the opportunity to work with clay to create 2 hand built pumpkins! Instructed by Amy Smoot, this class will be 2-4 PM on September 11, 2021 and 2-4 PM September 12, 2021 in the Georgine Clarke Building at 1922 5th Street Northport, AL 35476. Students should wear clothes that they don't mind getting clay on. This class has a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 10. If the class does not meet the minimum, participants will be refunded.

Attendance is limited to a maximum of 10 students, and all appropriate COVID protocols will be followed. Masks required on Kentuck's campus.

Meet the Instructor

Amy Smoot

Amy Smoot is from Carrollton, GA and currently resides in Tuscaloosa, AL. She received her BFA in ceramics from the University of West Georgia in 2015. While there, she was studio technician and research assistant in the ceramics area. In 2019 she received her MFA from The University of Alabama where she first began teaching ceramics as a graduate assistant. She is currently the instructor of beginning ceramics, ceramics two, and figurative modeling at UA. Her practice consists of all types of ceramics techniques including mold-making, slip-casting, hand building, and wheel thrown pottery.
