Meet the Instructor
Kevin Van Hyning
Kevin has been drawing cartoons for as long as he can remember. His first caricature was drawn at the tender age of nine, subsequent to which he received detention for drawing an unflattering portrait of Mr. Jenkins, his fourth grade science teacher. The rest is history. As a cartoonist, Kevin has worked for two Alabama newspapers, the Montgomery Advertiser and the Mobile Register. He is a professional graphic designer and freelance illustrator for various companies, advertising agencies and non-profits. As an event caricature artist, the adrenaline rush can't be beat. The thrill of meeting people and transforming their faces into an immediate cartoon is an absolute blast.
