Missy Miles

Gourd artist and muralist Missy Miles works from her studio in Hamilton, Alabama. Her designs on gourds range from the whimsical to the sublime. Missy began her gourd journey in 2005 and has since won numerous awards from juried shows in the Southeast (USA). The Alabama Gourd Society selected Miles as the reigning and multi-time Gourd Queen, and she was awarded Artist Choice at the Jerry Brown Art Festival for five consecutive years. Miles also has murals in Marion, Fayette, Lamar, and Jefferson counties, as well as four in the city of Jasper.

Kentuck Art Center and Festival was established in 1971. Kentuck's mission is to perpetuate the arts, engage the community, and empower the artist. The Kentuck Festival of the Arts is held annually in October, and during that weekend, makes a $5.5 million economic impact on its community.
