Blue Flow Bowl -Thomas Spake
This glass bowl sits softly on any surface. The light blue swirls melt into the soft form of the glass that twist and bend at the top of the bowl. Thomas Spake shows his craftsmanship with glass in this piece; it is lightweight and elegant. This bowl measures 5.5" x 9".
Kentuck Festival Artist, Thomas Spake, always enjoyed the visual arts growing up but never thought of pursuing a career as an artist. Until one day he walked into a glassblowing studio at Center College. Upon graduation Thomas was awarded the position of Glass Artist in Residence at the Appalachian Center for Crafts. He also worked as Manager and Head Glassblower for the River Gallery Glass Studio in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Currently, Thomas focuses his energies on works that infuse the earth, air, and sea. These works range in scale from small ornaments and paperweights to large outdoor sculpture. Thomas works can be found in galleries and collections across the United States including the Tennessee State Museum, The Siskin Foundation, and Joseph Decosimo and Company. Thomas lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Kimerlen Moore, who is an artist and art educator.
