City People Computer Monitor - Rik Long
Ever wonder what happened to the old desktop computer monitors of long ago? Well, lucky for us one of them wound up in the hands of Rik Long and was transformed into a colorful work of art. This piece measures 15.5" x 15.25" x 7.25".
Rik is from Andalusia, Alabama and each one of his pieces tells a story. His religious paintings in particular are made using scrap wood and clay from his own yard. He says there are no extra dyes or colors; just the mud. He also works in acrylics and is well known for his scenes of “city people.” Rik is the son of renowned folk artist Woodie Long, a house painter turned artist, whose pieces are included in the permanent collections of museums nationwide and whose paintings have been published in numerous books, as CD covers and accompanying magazine articles in major magazines such as Smithsonian.
