Images of America: Tuscaloosa

  • The Images of America series by Arcadia Publishing celebrates the history of neighborhoods, towns, and cities across the country. Using archival photographs, Tuscaloosa's book presents the distinctive stories from the past that shape the character of the community today. Curated and written by Amalia K. Amaki, a professor at the University of Alabama, and Katherine R. Mauter, executive director of the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society.

Kentuck Art Center and Festival was established in 1971. Kentuck's mission is to perpetuate the arts, engage the community, and empower the artist. The Kentuck Festival of the Arts is held annually in October, and during that weekend, makes a $5.5 million economic impact on its community.
