Owl Head Wall Hanging-Teresa Wamble

  • This striking portrait of an owl isn't what most consider a typical art supply; Teresa Wamble has used part of a gourd to form the basis for this this wall hanging! Approximately 5.25"x5.25"x1.25"

  • Originally from West Tennessee, I graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. in 1967 with an art education degree and taught art at George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, VA for one year. Though working at other jobs, including 14 years with Walt Disney World, I always made use of art skills on the job or off and chose to pursue art full time after my daughters were grown. In 1995, I married a native Alabama man, and we live in the woods near Calera. Though previously a painter, I discovered gourds and fell in love with their possibilities. My husband brings home wings, moths, etc, which become my patterns. I work in my basement and participate in many art shows each year around AL and have been fortunate enough to win numerous awards. I like doing shows and meeting the people who buy my gourd art. It is humbling that people love my work enough to want it for themselves, friends, or family.
