Small Covered Casserole-Jill Tortorella

  • If you are looking to add some spunk and variety to your dishware options, this unique little piece is just for you! Made by Antioch, Illinois-based ceramicist Jill Tortorella, this high fired, beautifully glazed  casserole dish is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe. When using it for baking, it is suggested to place the dish in the oven as it preheats to avoid shocking the stoneware with drastic temperature changes. But with proper care this cute little personal casserole dish will provide you with years of use! Approximately 6.5"x5.25"x5.5"

  • Jill creates vessels to use as canvases, which become three dimensional paintings. After an initial firing, bold all over patterns are painted on with bright glaze colors in many layers in the final firing gives life to her utilitarian pieces and makes them durable, everlasting works of art.

Our stoneware pottery is durable, versatile and safe to use, and it is ovenware, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe. Our clay and glazes contain no harmful materials. For baking we suggest warming our pieces in the oven, rather than placing it in a preheated oven. Mugs and teapots should be rinsed with hot tap water before pouring in boiling water. These precautions will eliminate the drastic temperature changes that sometimes cause damage to a piece of stoneware.
