Weed Vase

  • Handmade in Tuscaloosa, AL by Neely Portera! These weed vases vary in size from 3" to 5.5" tall and 1-1.5" wide. The sticker reads "Nothing will ever replace the feeling of receiving a small bouquet of weeds picked by tiny loving hands for his mother. This vase was inspired by my precious son JB."

  • Originally from Selma, Alabama, Neely currently lives and works in Tuscaloosa. She holds a degree in communications from the University of Alabama. While living in Starkville, MS with her husband, who was completing his studies at Mississippi State University, Neely decided she needed to take up a hobby. She enrolled in art classes at MSU where she studied pottery under Robert Long for two years. She currently spends her days working for the University of Alabama and her evenings and weekends working on her pottery. Her work is either wheel thrown or hand built, and all glazes are mixed and tested in her garage. Every piece is dishwasher safe and suitable for microwave and traditional oven.
