Kentuck

The staff has been having a great time getting ready for the holidays! Ever wonder what it's like to clean up after the Kentuck Festival of the Arts, rearrange an entire shop for the holidays, install an exhibition full of wall-sized quilts, and install an entire art environment? Well, you've come to the right blog post. We thought it would be fun to show you some behind-the-scenes photos of our #transformation.
Let's start with the before photos. This is directly after the Festival cleaning process started--boxes were piled halfway up the wall, and it was hard to move around in the gallery. Mary, our Shop Manager, had hundreds of new pieces to enter into inventory and display all before Christmas Open House on November 2nd.
Have you ever suspended a quilt from the ceiling? Here's a look at the before and after photos of our Museum Gallery.
This exhibition opens during Art Night on Thursday, November 7 from 5-8pm. Several of the quilters will be at Kentuck to speak about their work at 6:30pm. For more information about participating quilters, click here: https://www.kentuck.org/gee-s-bend-quilters
Oops! We're not showing you these after photos quite yet. You'll have to come see Storytangle in person!
We'll let you in on a sneak peek...
StoryTangle is an experimental immersive arts environment in Kentuck Art Center's SoNo Gallery built by several Kentuck Studio Artists. When you enter the space, YOU become part of the exhibit. YOUR JOB, as a participating part of the exhibit, is to search the art for clues to the catastrophe. Explore, discover, and create your personal experience within this artistically-created environment.
PLEASE DO TOUCH THE ART!
