kentuck's kids studio

Kentuck is now offering several kid-friendly crafting opportunities during the week!

Kentuck Art Center is hosting Kentuck Kids Studios for ages 2-8! These classes are one hour on Saturdays and are in accordance with Alabama’s education standards for visual arts. Each Saturday is a different activity, so there’s always something new for your child to learn. Each class is one hour on Saturdays (either 9:30am-10:30am or 11am-12pm), but you are welcome to sign up for both sessions and enjoy 2 hours of creative play.

Children need to be accompanied by an adult during our Saturday sessions, but don't worry—we clean up the mess.

This class will be located in Studio 2, which is located behind Rusty the big red dog on our campus. Look for the blue double doors in the Courtyard of Wonders!

There is a minimum of 3 participants and a maximum of 10 per session. If the minimum is not met, participants will be refunded.

Meet the Instructor

Leigh Clarke

Leigh Clark is a recent graduate from the University of Alabama where she received her master's degree in art history. She is a Montgomery, Alabama native and has attended schools like Auburn University Montgomery (B.A) and Booker T. Washington Magnet High School where she was able to continue her growth as both an artist and art historian. Leigh's art interests include painting, drawing, and art produced during the Renaissance and Baroque time period. During her free time, she is a watercolor painter and loves attempting new media.  She has volunteered with the Tuscaloosa Magnet School, previously interned at the Kentuck Art Center, and is a member of Tide 4 Christ (a Christian organization at the University of Alabama). Art is not only her interest but is one of her areas of great passion. Leigh hopes to not only share the knowledge and skills she has acquired but encourage others to unleash their inner artist as well.
