from the earth: carol mccrady; an exhibition recap

Carol McCrady has a great passion in the ancient history of communication and the arts. She has been actively engaged in the arts for more than 40 years. Her exhibition during Kentuck's yearly theme From the Earth is on display until September 28, 2025.

In her international travels she discovered and old French manuscript that detailed the Egyptian method for using a simple plant to make papyrus. Carol is self taught and controls all aspects of her craft from the growing, harvesting, preparation, and production of her sheets, to the painting on the papyrus with images of her interpretation of ancient designs.

Carol's work is meticulous, thorough and expertly displayed. She has an attention to detail that is masterful. She is a Madison, AL native McCrady and a two-time winner of the Merit Award at the annual Kentuck Festival of the Arts.
